The Navy football team has been back in action despite the current government shutdown, but the Midshipmen actually might have been better off not playing Duke on Saturday.
The Midshipmen dropped Saturday’s matchup to the Blue Devils 35-7, but it wasn’t for lack of effort. In the second quarter at Wallace Wade Stadium, Navy quarterback Keenan Reynolds rolled out to make a run, and in his effort to evade would-be tacklers, ran directly toward a referee.
Reynolds didn’t let the ref stop him, though, as the QB laid out a quick stiff-arm to make some space. The referee tumbled onto the field, losing his white cap along the way.
