Phil Kessel Scores Hat Trick While Hosting 24 Cancer Patients at Maple Leafs Game (Photos)

Phil Kessel invited two dozen young cancer patients to the Air Canada Centre for Tuesday night’s Maple Leafs-Ducks game, and he made sure to give them quite the show.

With 24 youngsters from Childhood Cancer Canada in attendance, Kessel tallied his fourth career hat trick, scoring the Leafs’ final two goals as Toronto upended Anaheim 4-2. It was a touching gesture from the Leafs forward, who battled cancer himself early in his career with the Bruins, and one these kids aren’t likely to forget anytime soon.
