Redskins Logo Compared to Swastika, Confederate Flag in New York Daily News Cartoon (Photo)

Does seeing the logo on Robert Griffin III‘s helmet automatically make you think of Nazi Germany?

Probably not, but that’s the comparison New York Daily News cartoonist Tom Stiglich drew in Thursday’s issue of the newspaper. The cartoon, entitled “Archaic Symbols of Pride and Heritage,” depicts the Washington Redskins’ primary logo alongside the Confederate flag and a Nazi swastika.

Many have deemed the Redskins’ nickname and logo offensive to Native Americans, and the campaign to get Daniel Snyder to rename the team is ever-growing, but does Stiglich’s cartoon take things a little too far?

Judge for yourself in the photo below.
