Leon WashingtonFOXBORO, Mass. — It’s looking doubtful that Tommy Kelly and Leon Washington play on Sunday against the Saints.

Both players were missing from practice all three days this week. Kelly hurt his knee during Sunday’s game against the Bengals. Washington injured his ankle during the opening kickoff in Cincinnati.

Chris JonesJoe Vellano and Andre Neblett will fill in for Kelly, unless the Patriots bring either A.J. Francis or Marcus Forston off the practice squad. Brandon Bolden will likely take reps as the third-down back with Washington and Shane Vereen out.

Washington’s kick-return duties were filled by LeGarrette Blount during the first four weeks of the season. Last week, since Blount was the team’s starting running back, Devin McCourty filled in.
