Mario Chalmers Launches Himself at Blake Griffin, Lands Forearm to Clippers Star’s Throat (Video)

In the NFL, they might call this targeting.

Mario Chalmers was lucky to pick up just a personal foul after throwing a nice forearm shiver to the throat of Blake Griffin during Thursday night’s Heat-Clippers game in Miami.

Griffin was setting a screen for teammate Chris Paul near the 3-point line when Chalmers got a little aggressive with his defense, elevating his right arm and landing a shot right below Griffin’s chin. The Clippers forward did his best to sell the hit — slow-motion replays clearly show him whipping his head back upon contact — but the referees determined that Chalmers was not deserving of further punishment.

Did they make the right call? Judge for yourself in the video below.
