Peyton Manning, Julius Thomas, Wes Welker Miss Practice for Broncos on Wednesday

FOXBORO, Mass. — With all the talk about how banged up the Patriots’ secondary is, the Broncos’ receiving corps isn’t doing so hot itself.

Peyton Manning (ankle), Julius Thomas (knee) and Wes Welker (concussion/neck) all missed practice on Wednesday. Backup tight end Joel Dreessen (knee) also missed practice. Champ Bailey (foot) was limited for the Broncos.

Michael Hoomanawanui (knee) was the only absence for the Patriots. Danny Amendola (groin), Kyle Arrington (groin), Alfonzo Dennard (knee), Steve Gregory (finger), Rob Gronkowski (back/forearm/hamstring), Brandon Spikes (knee), Aqib Talib (hip) and Leon Washington (ankle) were limited. Tom Brady (right shoulder), Matthew Slater (wrist) and Shane Vereen (wrist) were full participants.

Thomas and Welker’s injuries are worth watching this week. Denver would be much more manageable without those two targets for Manning.
