Red Sox’ David Ortiz Wins Sixth Career Silver Slugger Award
Ortiz enjoyed remarkable success from the plate in 2013 with a .309 batting average, 30 home runs, 103 RBIs and a .395 on-base percentage in 137 games.
It was his seventh campaign of at least 30 home runs and 100 RBIs, tying him with Boston legend Ted Williams for the most such seasons in team history.
Silver Slugger Awards are given to one player at each position in both the American and National Leagues every season, and they are voted on by managers and coaches.
Ortiz also won the 2013 World Series MVP award.
