Report: Austin Collie Released by Patriots After Injuring Knee Against Steelers

FOXBORO, Mass. — The Austin Collie era didn’t last long in New England.

The oft-injured receiver was released by the Patriots on Tuesday, according to Field Yates of ESPN.com. Collie signed with the team Oct. 3 and appeared in four games, starting one.

Collie caught three passes for 34 yards. He caught two passes for 24 yards on the final, game-winning drive against the Saints on Oct. 13.

Collie injured his knee against the Steelers on Sunday. He was declared out for the game after the half.

Collie previously played with the Colts and 49ers. He has 176 career receptions for 1,879 yards and 16 touchdowns.
