Adam McQuaid Cleared to Play, Will Be in Lineup for Bruins vs. Predators

After nearly a month on the shelf, Adam McQuaid is set to return to the ice for the Bruins.

The team announced Monday that the defenseman, who has missed the last nine games with a lower-body injury, will be in the lineup when the B’s take on the Predators in Nashville on Monday night.

McQuaid first suffered the injury — a suspected groin pull — in a win over Toronto back on Nov. 9 and missed eight games as a result. He returned for three games but re-aggravated the injury against Columbus on Nov. 30 and has not played since.

McQuaid has played in just 18 of the Bruins’ 36 games this season, recording a goal and two assists. His return will likely bump either Matt Bartkowski or recent call-up David Warsofsky out of the lineup.

The Bruins, owners of a 16-5-1 record over their last 22 games, lead the Atlantic Division and rank second in the Eastern Conference behind Pittsburgh.
