Chipper Jones’ Tweet Suggests He’s Still Disgruntled About NLDS Ceremonial First Pitch Incident

It sounds like Chipper Jones is holding a grudge.

Jones, who spent 19 seasons in a Braves uniform, had a little disagreement with some folks in the Atlanta clubhouse earlier this year after he picked against his former club prior to its playoff series with the Dodgers. Everyone on the Braves — many of whom are Jones’ former teammates — boycotted the eight-time All-Star’s ceremonial first pitch before Game 1 of the NLDS, prompting Atlanta’s mascot to catch his toss.

Jones, apparently still fuming over the incident, took a jab at the Braves on Sunday, sending out a tweet asking whether the mascot will catch Tim Hudson‘s first pitch in San Francisco next season. Hudson just signed a two-year deal with the Giants after spending his last nine seasons with the Braves.

Jones followed with two more tweets Sunday, wishing Tim and his wife, Kim, all the best in San Francisco. Of course, even those tweets weren’t without some theatrics.
