The son of a Celtics great found himself caught up in an unsavory situation over the weekend when he was arrested in a prostitution sting in Florida.
Chris Havlicek, the 43-year-old son of John Havlicek, was arrested and charged Friday night with soliciting for prostitution near Winter Haven, Fla., according to Gossip Extra. Polk County police booked Havlicek on the misdemeanor charge, and he was released after promptly posting his $250 bail.
Nearly 80 people were arrested in the four-day sting operation, according to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office. They nabbed Havlicek after he responded to an ad on backpage.com to meet a young woman in a Winter Haven motel. Instead of the young woman, Havlicek was met by a sheriff’s deputy.
The younger Havlicek is the managing director and Palm Beach market manager for JP Morgan Chase Bank and was formerly a reporter for NBA TV.
John “Hondo” Havlicek, 73, played for 16 seasons with the Boston Celtics, winning eight NBA titles. He’s been living in the Palm Beach area since 1993.
