ESPN Sums Up Knicks’ Season With ‘Sad Carmelo’ Telestration (Video)

Remember earlier this month, when the New York Knicks won five games in a row and six of seven, including wins over the Miami Heat and San Antonio Spurs? Well, it now appears that hot streak was an aberration, not a sign that things at Madison Square Garden are finally turning around.

The Knicks were blown out 103-80 by the only slightly less miserable Brooklyn Nets on Monday, their fourth straight double-digit loss. The defeat produced what might be the defining image of the season thus far: Carmelo Anthony shaking his head dejectedly after Nets guard Deron Williams nailed a wide-open 3-pointer.

Anthony, who is averaging nearly a double-double each night (26.1 points, 9.1 rebounds), is the only Knicks player having even a halfway decent season. He has a reason to be frustrated by his teammates’ listless play, which ESPN’s Tim Legler illustrated perfectly during his analysis of the game.
