LeGarrette Blount: ‘I Would Love To Be Back’ With New England Patriots In 2014

The New England Patriots have some decisions to make now that their season has ended with a 26-16 loss in the AFC Championship Game.

The Patriots have some key players entering free agency, including wide receiver Julian Edelman and cornerback Aqib Talib. Running back LeGarrette Blount, who carried the Patriots to victory in Week 17 and in their divisional-round playoff game but had just 6 yards on five carries against the Denver Broncos on Sunday, says he wants to be back.

“I would love to be back here with this group,” Blount told reporters in Denver on Sunday.

The Patriots traded a seventh-round pick and running back Jeff Demps to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for Blount in April. Blount took a pay cut after joining New England. The trade paid off, as Blount ran for 772 yards on 153 carries with seven touchdowns during the regular season.

The Patriots have running backs Shane VereenStevan Ridley and Brandon Bolden under contract for next season.
