Nathan Gerbe’s Between-The-Legs Goal Elicits Plenty Of ‘Oohs’ And ‘Ahhs’ (Video)

The smallest guy on the ice scored the most monumental goal of the night.

Carolina Hurricanes forward Nathan Gerbe gave Thomas Hertl a run for his money Wednesday night, pulling off a filthy between-the-legs goal against the Philadelphia Flyers. Gerbe, who had been held scoreless the past nine games, broke out of his slump in a huge way after taking advantage of a Flyers turnover.

The 5-foot-5 forward raced to grab the loose puck that had bounced away from Philadelphia defenseman Luke Schenn, creating a breakaway opportunity. Gerbe then earned some serious style points as he tossed the puck between his legs at the last second and fooled Flyers goalie Steve Mason to give the Canes a 2-0 lead.
