Report: Aaron Hernandez Discussed Odin Lloyd Murder While In Jail

Aaron Hernandez is in Bristol County Jail awaiting trial in Odin Lloyd’s murder trial, and prosecutors allege the former New England Patriots tight end has discussed the murder with associates while in jail.

Bristol District Attorney C. Samuel Sutter have requested copies of Hernandez’s telephone calls and records of people who have visited him since he entered Bristol County Jail on the murder charge, according to the Boston Globe. The prosecution said that the information will show that Hernandez used coded language when talking with friends and his fiancee Shayanna Jenkins about allegations that he orchestrated Lloyd’s murder in North Attleboro on June 17.

The prosecution expects to find a bevy of useful information from the records, Bristol Assistant District Attorney Roger L. Michel Jr. wrote in an affidavit.

“During those conversations, the defendant has discussed the following matters directly relevant to the circumstances surrounding the murder of Odin Lloyd; viz: the defendant’s subjective belief about his criminal liability; his use of coded messages to communicate with persons outside of jail; related prior offenses; inculpatory denials of ownership of a vehicle connected with the investigation; the extent of his control over persons charged as accessories; other matters relating to his codefendants, including their whereabouts and likely criminal liability.’’

While Bristol County prosecutors continue to pursue Hernandez’s role in Lloyd’s death, Boston police continue to investigate his possible involvement in a 2012 double murder as well. New documents released earlier in January raised suspicion that he was the gunman in the drive-by shooting.
