Mike Trout celebrated his new one-year, $1 million deal with the Los Angeles Angels — the largest ever for a one-year pre-arbitration player — by crushing a grand slam during a spring training game against the Chicago Cubs on Friday.
The Angels were already up 5-1 in the fourth inning when Trout stepped to the plate, and he collected four of his five RBIs with one swing when he smashed a 2-0 fastball from Cubs pitcher James McDonald over the fence in left field.
The ball one-hopped over a hedge on its way out of the stadium as Trout and his teammates rounded the bases.
