NFL Prospect Leaves Combine, Says God Told Him He’ll Play For Seahawks

While most NFL prospects are running the 40-yard dash and counting bench press reps in front of NFL scouts, former San Diego State running back Adam Muema is missing out.

Muema was invited to the NFL Scouting Combine, but he left Sunday without working out, citing religious reasons, according to The San Diego Union-Tribune. The running back didn’t participate in any position-specific drills Sunday before leaving, saying he was “following God,” who told him that if he missed workouts, he’d play for the Seattle Seahawks.

“Can’t go wrong with God,” Muema said.

Muema was the fourth-leading rusher at San Diego State, and he said playing for Seattle is his “dream.”

“(God) told me to sit down, be quiet, and enjoy the peace,” he said.

Muema said he communicates with God through numbers.

Muema rushed 56 times for 1,244 yards and 15 touchdowns for the Aztecs in 2013 before declaring for the draft last month as an early-entry junior. He is expected to be a mid to late-round pick.
