There weren’t many Team USA hockey players who played very well in the team’s final two games of the 2014 Winter Olympics, but goalie Jonathan Quick did his job for the most part. As you might expect, he’s not happy with how things turned out.
The goalie ripped the team on Saturday shortly after the Americans were blown out in a 5-0 loss to Finland in the bronze medal game. Quick was much better than the five goals would indicate, and he didn’t get a lick of help against the pesky Finns. That, combined with a semifinal loss to Canada on Friday was enough to fire up the Los Angeles Kings netminder.
“We’re professionals,” Quick said, according to ProHockeyTalk.com’s Jason Brough. “We play back-to-backs all year long. There’s no reason we show up and not piss a drop.”
Quick wasn’t just throwing his teammates under the bus, though. He also admitted he didn’t play well enough, either.
