Apparently a Super Bowl victory didn’t fulfill Russell Wilson’s hunger for competition.
The Seattle Seahawks quarterback and MLB draftee will report to Surprise, Ariz., March 3 for Texas Rangers spring training.

While his role with the team is unlikely to exceed a publicity endeavor — Wilson hit just .229 combined over two seasons with two Class-A teams — he does have some time to kill before NFL training camps get underway in a couple of months.
The Rangers are looking to fill a hole at second base after Ian Kinsler was traded and his backup, Jurickson Profar, suffered a shoulder injury.
