U.S. Olympic Flag Bearer: Skier Todd Lodwick To Do Honors In Sochi

Skier Todd Lodwick will have the honor of leading the U.S. contingent into the 2014 Winter Olympics.

Lodwick, a Colorado native, was selected to be the nation’s flag bearer for Friday’s opening ceremony in Sochi, the U.S. Olympic Committee announced Wednesday.

Lodwick, 37, competes in the Nordic combined division, which includes cross-country skiing and ski jumping.

This will be Lodwick’s sixth Olympics, the most ever by an American winter athlete. He was part of a U.S. team that took silver in Vancouver in 2010.

Luger Mark Grimmette and speed skater Chris Witty were the U.S. flag bearers for the 2010 and 2006 Olympics, respectively.
