Brandon LaFell Offends Panthers Fans, Retires From Twitter For A Month

New England Patriots wide receiver Brandon LaFell has temporarily retired from Twitter after offending Carolina Panthers fans with his comments about ex-teammate Cam Newton.

LaFell, who signed a three-year contract with the Patriots, said Wednesday that he signed with New England to play with “Hall of Fame quarterback” Tom Brady. LaFell then implied that Panthers quarterback Cam Newton’s skill level isn’t quite up to par.

“When you have a guy who can pinpoint the ball the way (Brady) does, it’s great,” LaFell said, via CSNNE.com. “One day Cam will be there probably, but he’s not there now.”

Panthers fans had harsh words for LaFell on Twitter.
