Report: Darrelle Revis Contract Includes $20M Team Option For 2015

More specifics about Darrelle Revis’ contract with the New England Patriots have emerged.

It was initially reported that Revis’ deal would be for one year and pay the cornerback $12 million, but USA Today’s Tom Pelissero reported Thursday that the contract also includes a team option for the 2015 season worth $20 million, including a $12 million roster bonus.

The option must be exercised by the end of the 2014 league year. If the Patriots do not exercise the option, they will not be able to use the franchise tag on Revis.

For 2014, Revis will receive $10 million for signing with the team, $1.5 million in base salary and up to an additional $500,000 in bonuses. His salary cap number will be $7 million for 2014, with $5 million carrying over to 2015, per NFL Media’s Albert Breer.

Revis’ business manager confirmed Thursday that the two sides have come to terms on a deal.
