Aaron Hernandez Reportedly Threatened To Kill Jail Guard

Aaron Hernandez just can’t stay out of the spotlight.

The former New England Patriots tight end is being investigated for allegedly threatening to shoot and kill a guard at Bristol County Jail in 2013, TMZ Sports reported Tuesday. A former fellow inmate at the jail denies Hernandez made the threats.

Investigators recently talked with the ex-inmate about the incident between Hernandez and a corrections officer who allegedly put a stop to a scam the former Patriot was running to get extra food while in the jail. The ex-inmate told investigators that Hernandez routinely ran these schemes, like putting a bug on a half-eaten meal, then complaining to officials so he could get a fresh plate.

Hernandez pulled the scheme “one too many times,” though, and officers put an end to the extra servings, TMZ Sports reported.

Investigators asked questions about whether Hernandez ever suggested that when he gets out of jail, he’s going to “kill the guard and shoot his family.” They also inquired about whether Hernandez ever made a noise like a “machine gun round” to the guard.

The ex-inmate maintained that Hernandez never threatened the guard but said Hernandez did call the guard a profane name during an exchange.

Hernandez was written up over the incident, but Bristol County Jail officials have yet to comment on the reported investigation.
