New York Yankees captain Derek Jeter recently handed a baseball to a cute little girl after warding off a seemingly greedy Houston Astros fan.
The interaction occurred during Thursday night’s Yankees-Astros matchup in Texas, when Jeter attempted to hand off the baseball to a young fan wearing his jersey. A woman clearly itching for some soon-to-be-priceless Jeter memorabilia tried to block the shortstop, but he made sure the baseball ended up in the right hands.
In one fell swoop, Jeter made a young Yankees fan very happy and demonstrated the age-old lesson of not stealing baseballs from bright-eyed, adolescent fans.
