Grady SizemoreStarting in left field wasn’t a one-time deal for Grady Sizemore.

After making his first-ever start in left duringĀ a 4-1 loss to the New York Yankees on Thursday night, the Boston Red Sox outfielder is back in the same spot as his team looks to even the series Friday night at Yankee Stadium.

Sizemore will bat fifth, as Jonny Gomes slides into the leadoff spot and replaces Daniel Nava in right field.

Infielder Ryan Roberts also will returnĀ to the Red Sox’s lineup, replacing Jonathan Herrera at third base and batting seventh. Roberts entered Thursday night’s contest in the seventh inning to pinch-hit for Herrera but grounded out to Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter.

David Ross will get the start behind the plate Friday for starting pitcher Jon Lester, who’s looking for his first win of 2014 despite surrendering just four earned runs in 14 1/3 innings this season.
