Report: Rob Gronkowski To Take His Time Rehabbing Torn ACL For Patriots

Rob Gronkowski’s knee might be healed by the time the New England Patriots begin training camp, but that doesn’t mean he’ll be on the practice field.

Gronkowski will “take his time and then take more time” before returning, a source close to the tight end told Bleacher Report’s Mike Freeman. Gronkowski waited to play in a game until Week 7 last season as he recovered from forearm and back surgeries, though he began practicing before Week 1.

Gronkowski will “take more time, and be more patient, than ever before” as he recovers from his knee injury suffered in Week 14 against the Cleveland Browns, Freeman wrote Wednesday. That could cause tension in the Patriots’ locker room.

There were reports last season that teammates were frustrated that it took Gronkowski so long to return from his injuries despite tearing it up on the practice field.

Gronkowski’s recovery reportedly is on schedule, and he’s set to begin jogging soon.
