Co-Owner Stephen Pagliuca To Represent Celtics At NBA Draft Lottery

The Boston Celtics went the traditional route in picking their representative at the 2014 NBA draft lottery.

Co-owner and managing partner Stephen Pagliuca will represent the team at the May 20 lottery, the Celtics announced Friday. The Celtics have the fifth-best odds in the lottery, with a 10.3 percent chance of winning the No. 1 pick. Their strongest odds are to pick sixth.

Some teams have pulled out all the stops in past years, hoping their lottery representative will give them some helpful karma. The most memorable might have been Cleveland Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert’s son, Nick, who suffers from neurofibromatosis, representing the Cavs in 2011, when Cleveland landed the top pick and drafted Kyrie Irving.
