Celtics’ Kelly Olynyk Named To NBA All-Rookie Second Team

If there were an All-Hair Team, Kelly Olynyk would be a lock. (Get it? Lock? Hair? Whatever, it’s funny.) Because there is not, he will have to settle for a spot on the NBA’s All-Rookie Second Team.

The golden-maned Canadian was sixth in the annual postseason voting after averaging 8.7 points and 5.2 rebounds per game for the Boston Celtics. Olynyk, 23, broke out late in the season, scoring 24 points or more in each of the last three games.

Philadelphia 76ers guard Michael Carter-Williams led all rookies with 125 first-place votes. In addition to the reigning NBA Rookie of the Year, the first team included Orlando Magic guard Victor Oladipo, Utah Jazz guard Trey Burke, Brooklyn Nets center Mason Plumlee and New York Knicks guard Tim Hardaway Jr.

The full all-rookie rosters appear below.
