At least one member of the Miami Dolphins apparently learned nothing from last year’s bullying scandal that rocked the team.
After the Dolphins drafted University of Tennessee offensive tackle Ja’Wuan James 19th overall, Mike Pouncey, who was at the center of the Jonathan Martin situation, responded by tweeting, “Great pick! I can’t wait for our gifts he’s getting us lol.”
It might be just a tad too soon to make hazing jokes, with the lengthy and thorough investigation of bullying in the Miami locker room resulting in the Dolphins parting ways with Richie Incognito and trading away Martin.
Warren Sapp clearly thought so, and the Hall of Fame defensive lineman couldn’t resist adding his two cents to Pouncey’s ill-advised tweet.

UPDATE (8:30 p.m.): Pouncey deleted his Twitter account shortly after his tweet made the rounds, and the Dolphins issued a statement on the situation.
“We talked with Mike, and Mike understands that sometimes things can be taken out of context,” Dolphins general manager Dennis Hickey said in the statement, via ESPN. “What’s meant as a light-hearted comment can be taken out of context. We talked with Mike and he was good with that and understands social media is a great tool to reach our fans for the positive. But you have to make good choices with that.”
