Boston Red Sox third base coach Brian Butterfield knows how to give a solid birthday shoutout.

In addition to being the opener of a two-game set between the Cincinnati Reds and Red Sox, Tuesday also marked the seventh birthday of Butterfield’s granddaughter, Madison McGlinn. During the interleague contest, Butterfield knew Cincinnati third baseman Todd Frazier was mic’d up for the game, so he did a little collaborating with the infielder.

Butterfield spoke into Frazier’s jersey to wish his granddaughter a happy birthday on-air — something she’ll certainly be bragging about at school the next day — from “Grampy.”
