Vince Wilfork was limited in practice during the Patriots’ first session of organized team activities, according to a source. Wilfork tore his Achilles tendon during the Patriots’ Week 4 win over the Atlanta Falcons last season.
Wilfork restructured his contract this offseason, agreeing to a three-year, $23 million extension heavy on per-game bonuses and snap-based incentives.
Wilfork had nine tackles in four games for the Patriots in 2013. He appeared to be slowed by a foot injury during training camp last year and missed two preseason games.
It’s a good sign that the 6-foot-2, 325-pounder already is back on the field. There were doubts that Wilfork, 32, would be able to make a full recovery at his age and size.
Cornerback Kyle Arrington also practiced Tuesday after undergoing offseason groin surgery, a source told the Boston Herald’s Jeff Howe.
