Aaron Hernandez To Seek Dismissal Of Charges In Odin Lloyd Murder Case

FALL RIVER, Mass. — Lawyers for former New England Patriots star Aaron Hernandez are expected to ask a judge to dismiss the murder charge he faces in connection with last June’s killing of semi-pro football player Odin Lloyd.

Hernandez is also scheduled to be arraigned Monday on charges that he attacked a handcuffed inmate and threatened to kill a guard and his family while at the county jail in Dartmouth, where he has been held since his arrest in the Lloyd slaying in North Attleborough.

Hernandez’s lawyers say the charges should be dismissed because prosecutors have failed to show probable cause that Hernandez killed Lloyd or even took part in the slaying.

Two Hernandez associates are also charged in the case.

Hernandez is also charged with killing two men in Boston in 2012.
