Williams seems open to the idea of playing for the Patriots if they reach out to him, however.
“Well, give them a call,” Williams told USA Today’s Tom Pelissero on Tuesday. “Tell them to look me up.”
The Patriots’ need for a defensive tackle was lessened after they drafted Dominique Easley in the first round of the 2014 NFL draft. The Patriots still have uncertainty at the position with Easley, Vince Wilfork, Armond Armstead and Tommy Kelly recovering from injuries.
Williams has 60 sacks in 11 seasons, including 3 1/2 in 2013. The 6-foot-5, 311-pound lineman has been named to six Pro Bowls, with the most recent selection coming in 2010.
