Mayo has been a full participant in Patriots organized team activities, and he said he’s taking the injury “one day at a time.”
“I’ve been doing everything (at practice),” Mayo said. “We’ll see when we put the pads on. Right now, it’s passing camp, so it’s not the banging and things like that. But right now, I’m feeling good.”
Mayo was injured during the Patriots’ Week 6 win over the New Orleans Saints. He immediately was put on injured reserve, giving second-year pro Dont’a Hightower a bigger role in the defense.
The Patriots will need Mayo to stay healthy this season with a lack of depth at linebacker.
