Metta World Peace To Serve As Assistant Coach For Girls High School Team

Metta World Peace is taking his talents to the world of high school girls basketball.

The former NBA player will become an assistant coach for the Palisades High Dolphins girls basketball team in the 2014-15 season, the Palisadian-Post reports. World Peace’s daughter played in the Dolphins program, and he agreed to join the staff in addition to his NBA responsibilities.

“Metta’s going to be heavy into the strategic portion of our practices,” Johnson told the Palisadian-Post. “He’ll be someone you’ll see around. We’re both into mental health awareness, and I’ll be really excited to see him in the gym.”

The 35-year-old veteran is an unrestricted free agent after being waived by the New York Knicks in February, but it looks like his 17-year career could be coming to a close unless a team decides to take a chance on him for the upcoming season. No matter what happens, though, it appears World Peace has a job lined up.
