Hornets Nest Elementary School in Charlotte, N.C., received the surprise of a lifetime Monday morning when Michael Jordan strolled through the doors.
The Charlotte Hornets owner made a surprise visit to one lucky classroom as part of a citywide initiative that was sponsored by the Hornets, Lowe’s and Fox Sports Carolinas/SportSouth to renovate the school. While the kids presumably appreciate the efforts made to improve their educational experience, what they really appreciated was meeting the greatest player of all time.
After taking a class picture and yelling, “Let’s go Hornets,” the students turned around only to see Jordan standing there before promptly losing their minds.

They might not have even been born when Jordan was playing with the Chicago Bulls or the Washington Wizards, but his legend lives on regardless. Besides, they haven’t forgotten about one very important team that he carried to the biggest victory in the universe — the Tune Squad.
