Red Sox Hitting Coach Greg Colbrunn Hospitalized After Brain Hemorrhage

Boston Red Sox hitting coach Greg Colbrunn suffered a subarachnoid hemorrhage before Wednesday night’s game against the Cleveland Indians but is expected to recover, the team announced.

Colbrunn experienced dizziness before the game and was admitted to the Cleveland Clinic, where he will remain for “the next few days” for further evaluation, the Red Sox said in a statement Thursday.

Dr. Larry Ronan, the Red Sox’s medical director, and physicians from the Cleveland Clinic expect Greg to make a “good recovery,” according to the statement.

The 44-year-old is in his second season as the Red Sox’s hitting coach.
