Kevin Williams agreed to a one-year contract with the Seattle Seahawks on Thursday, sources told ESPN’s Ed Werder. Williams visited the Patriots last Thursday.
Williams’ deal with the Super Bowl-champion Seahawks is worth “in excess of $2 million,” Werder reported. The former Minnesota Vikings defensive tackle had 3.5 sacks in 2013.
Williams was told by Patriots head coach Bill Belichick that he would have been a rotational player with the Patriots. He likely will serve a similar role in Seattle.
With Williams off the market, the Patriots will have to hope defensive tackles Vince Wilfork, Tommy Kelly, Dominique Easley and Armond Armstead stay healthy in 2014.
