Report: Free-Agent Tight End Jermichael Finley Visited Patriots Last Week

The New England Patriots could bring back their two-tight end offense after all.

The Patriots hosted former Green Bay Packers tight end Jermichael Finley on a visit Friday, ESPN’s Adam Caplan reported, per sources. Finley is recovering from neck surgery after suffering a spinal contusion that ended his 2013 season.

Finley had 25 catches for 300 yards and two touchdowns in six games last season before his Week 7 injury. The seventh-year pro’s best season came in 2011, when he had 55 receptions for 767 yards and eight TDs.

Finley would add another receiving threat and much-needed depth at tight end to the Patriots if they elect to sign him. The Patriots also could be in on free-agent tight end Dustin Keller, who tore his ACL, MCL and PCL during the 2013 preseason while with the Miami Dolphins. Keller visited the Patriots in April.
