Mike Napoli, Xander Bogaerts Out Of Lineup For Red Sox Against Rays

The Boston Red Sox have found themselves in yet another losing streak. After winning eight of nine games, the Sox have dropped five games in a row, the latest coming in a 3-0 loss to the Tampa Bay Rays on Saturday night.

Red Sox manager John Farrell will shake up his lineup on Sunday in the hopes of ending the skid, as Mike Napoli and Xander Bogaerts will get the day off. Taking their places are Mike Carp, who will play first base and bat sixth, and Brock Holt, who will get the start at third base and bat leadoff.

Shane Victorino will return to the lineup batting fifth and playing right field after getting Saturday night off. With Napoli out of the lineup, Daniel Nava will bat second and play left field, bumping Dustin Pedroia to third and David Ortiz to fourth in the Sox’s batting order.

Christian Vazquez will bat eighth and get the start behind the plate for pitcher Allen Webster, who will make his 2014 debut filling the rotation spot left by pitcher Jake Peavy.
