Mookie Betts Sits Again As Red Sox, White Sox Open Four-Game Series

The Chicago White Sox visit Fenway Park on Monday night to open a four-game series against the Boston Red Sox, who are eager to wash the taste of Sunday’s 12-inning loss out of their mouths.

The Red Sox’s lineup for Monday’s game is virtually unchanged from the one they trotted out one day earlier, with the only tweak being swapping A.J. Pierzynski for David Ross behind the plate and in the No. 7 spot in the order.

One player not in that lineup is rookie Mookie Betts, who has ridden the bench for three of the Red Sox’s last four games. Betts has gone 4-for-19 at the plate with one home run, two RBIs and three runs scored in five games since receiving his first major league call-up.
