Vincent Kompany Applauds Tim Howard After USA-Belgium World Cup Game

Team USA may have been eliminated from the 2014 FIFA World Cup after losing its game against Belgium on Tuesday, but all anyone could talk about was American goalkeeper Tim Howard.

The U.S. lost 2-1, but it would’ve lost by much more had Howard not played a career game, as the 35-year-old keeper recorded a World Cup-record 16 saves.

And knowing to give credit where credit is due, Belgium’s captain Vincent Kompany took to Twitter to commend Howard for his incredible performance.

The Belgian defender and Howard are no strangers, as both play in the English Premier League. Kompany plays for Manchester City, while Howard plays for Everton.
