Editor’s note: Michael Narracci is the coordinating director of Red Sox broadcasts on NESN and has spent 14 seasons with the network. This is the eighth installment of his “Director’s Cut,” a behind-the-scenes look at NESN’s Red Sox game coverage.
I’ve always wanted to do a time-lapse video inside our production truck during a Boston Red Sox game. Last week, my technical director, Jesse Gregg, brought in his GoPro, and we were able to pull it off.
The people you will see in the front row, from top to bottom, are:
Coordinating producer: Jim Daddona
Producer: Kevin Cedergren
Coordinating director: Michael Narracci
Technical director: Jesse Gregg
In the back row, from top to bottom:
Graphics operator: Duane D’tremont
Associate producer: Patrick White

There also were a host of guests from the marketing department, including VP of marketing Paul Bermel. It must have been “meet the remote guys” night for marketing. If you look at the time-of-day clock in the upper right, I have a brief conversation with Paul at 7:58.
A few other things I noticed:
- I don’t move around too much. My chiropractor probably wishes I stretched out between innings, like I did at 9:22.
- Producer Kevin Cedergren looks like he’s at a heavy metal concert because he’s constantly looking down at the promo list.
- At 8:25 on the time-of-day clock, we get our delivery of Dunkin’ Donuts coffee and other refreshments. I didn’t notice that CP Jim Daddona was the first to attack it. When we go to the next commercial break, at 8:33, it looks like a NASCAR pit stop as we try to pour coffee and grab creamers, sugars and covers out of the bag. There are brief guest appearances by Pete Grenier, our audio mixer, and Phil Pesce, our production assistant, who needed a little pick-me-up.
