1410368819_obamaBeing the president of the United States comes with a lot of power — snagging a tee time over a holiday weekend is not one of those powers, though.

According to NBC 4 in New York, President Obama was turned down from many posh New York-area golf courses over Labor Day weekend because he didn’t give them enough notice.

Obama was reportedly turned down at the Trump National Golf Club, the Winged Foot and Willow Ridge, among many other exclusive clubs, when the White House advance team attempted to secure a tee time for Obama with just a day or two notice, a couple sources reported.

According to the story, club managers did not want to inconvenience their high-paying members to accommodate the president and the massive security team that would follow him.

The president was in the area on Friday, Aug. 29, for fundraising events in New York and Rhode Island. But the golfing fiasco might have altered his travel plans. Instead of staying the night in Westchester County (N.Y.) the night before attending a wedding on Saturday, Obama returned to Washington D.C. late Friday night and then headed back to Westchester County the next morning.

It’s unclear whether his foiled golfing plans were the reason for the last-second change, but we’re guessing this is the last time he doesn’t get a tee time booked months in advance.
