iPhone 6 Will Allow Fans To Buy MLB Tickets Through Apple Pay

Apple unveiled its latest creations Tuesday, giving the public its first glimpse at the iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus and Apple Watch.

Among the various new features included in the new gadgets is a service called Apple Pay, which aims to take the place of credit cards and “forever change the way we buy,” Apple chief executive Tim Cook said during the unveiling.

Apple Pay will be able to store a user’s credit cards for instant use at a number of participating retailers, including McDonald’s, Starbucks, Wallgreens and Macy, and to make online purchases through select apps. One of those apps is MLB.com’s “At Bat,” which will allow fans to instantly purchase tickets to Major League Baseball games.

Details on how exactly the process will work are scarce, but it will be available for download when the iOS 8 update hits Apple Store shelves Sept. 17.
