Patriots Practice Report: New England Signs Three To Practice Squad

FOXBORO, Mass. — The New England Patriots had three new faces on the practice field Wednesday.

The Patriots signed guard Chris Barker, who cleared waivers Tuesday, running back Marcus Thigpen and tight end Allen Reisner to the practice squad, according to sources. Based on practice-squad attendance, it appears cornerback Daxton Swanson, quarterback McLeod Bethel-Thompson and safety Kanorris Davis were released from the Patriots’ practice squad.

Thigpen was released by the Miami Dolphins on Saturday during final roster cuts. He had been converted to wide receiver during Dolphins training camp, but he was sporting No. 33 and working with the Patriots’ running backs in practice.

Reisner went undrafted out of Iowa in 2011. He was cut by the Minnesota Vikings on Aug. 30.

The Patriots had perfect attendance among players on the 53-man roster. Defensive tackle Chris Jones, who worked on a lower practice field Monday, joined his team for conditioning Wednesday.

UPDATE (3:45 p.m.): The Patriots confirmed the roster moves in a press release.
