Patriots Injury Report: Tom Brady Missed Practice With Calf Injury

FOXBORO, Mass. — The cause for Tom Brady’s absence from Thursday’s New England Patriots practice now is known: The starting quarterback has a calf injury.

The severity of Brady’s ailment isn’t known, but he’s reportedly set to play in Sunday’s season opener against the Miami Dolphins despite the injury, which kept him out of the entire practice. Brady last missed a practice on Jan. 15 in preparation for the Patriots’ AFC Championship Game loss to the Denver Broncos because of an illness.

The rest of the Patriots’ injury report stayed the same from Wednesday — defensive tackles Chris Jones (ankle) and Sealver Siliga (hand), defensive end Michael Buchanan (ankle) and tight end Rob Gronkowski (knee) all were limited in practice for the second consecutive day.
