FOXBORO, Mass. — Tom Brady isn’t in the business of making excuses.
Brady insists that the calf injury he suffered a few days before the New England Patriots’ Week 1 loss to the Miami Dolphins had nothing to do with his team’s poor offensive performance. The Patriots quarterback looked off in Week 1, especially on passes over 20 yards, where he completed just 1 of 10 attempts.
“I don’t think there are any excuses for the way the outcome of the game was, but hopefully we’re better this week,” Brady said Wednesday at Gillette Stadium.
Brady missed practice last Thursday because of the calf injury, but he was back on the field for Friday’s session. Brady was sacked by the Dolphins four times and hit seven more, and his performance appeared to decline the more he was hit.
