FOXBORO, Mass. — Jamie Collins might have to pay closer attention the next time he’s running down the field to make a tackle in punt coverage.
The New England Patriots linebacker was fined $8,268 by the NFL for hitting Cincinnati Bengals punt returner Brandon Tate after the receiver made a fair catch signal. Tate didn’t put his hand all the way above his head to make the signal, and Collins’ view might have been blocked by a Patriots defender and Bengals blocker.
