Poll: Which Chicago Bear Is The Biggest Threat To The Patriots?

Much has been made about the hoopla in the Bears’ locker room following their 27-14 loss to the Miami Dolphins at home Sunday, but the New England Patriots are still preparing for Chicago’s best when they visit Gillette Stadium for their Week 8 matchup.

With Julian Edelman believing the locker room drama will unite the Bears, and Tom Brady citing Chicago’s 3-1 record on the road this season as a reason not to count them out, the Pats also have three other reasons they’re going to have to bring their A-game — Jay Cutler, Matt Forte and Brandon Marshall.

But which of the three will be the biggest threat to the Patriots?

With Cutler at the helm, the Bears have been wildly inconsistent this season. The offense has shown glimpses of what they were expected to be but it boils down to which Cutler will show up each week. The quarterback has recorded zero turnovers in Chicago’s three wins, but has committed seven interceptions and three fumbles in the four losses.

Running back Matt Forte, meanwhile, was responsible for both of the Bears touchdowns against the Dolphins, and is the team’s most consistent threat on offense. Forte leads the team in rushing with 448 yards and also leads not just the team in receptions with 52 catches, but the entire league.

Then there’s Brandon Marshall. The 6-foot-4, 230-pound receiver, who was at the center of the locker room drama, and leads the Bears with five touchdown receptions this season. His size, along with the 6-foot-3, 218-pound Alshon Jeffrey could provide trouble for the Pats’ secondary.
